Seasoned Fisherman Prepares His Tackle Box in Pre-dawn Hours: Futility of How and Why We Save for an Intangible Retirement

Youth is a good thing. It’s part of the magnificently invigorating process of human unfoldment. Youth offers us the unencumbered opportunity to live without fear, hesitation and indecision. When we are young, we don’t think; we just do! We move through the intricate web of life creatively unentangled. We do what we WILL, as enlightened adepts, without having cause or concern for how, why or for what reason we are experiencing the things we do.
We embraced and engaged the incalculably prized, indescribable formative years of highly energized, creative, entertaining, sacredly sensual, sexually artistic experimental youth inspired talented hours as moments spent in spontaneous thought and magical action produced and projected solely from gut-level golden instinct. No one would disagree: a vibrantly retained Youthful spirit is better than all of the gold ever mined. If and when we lose its vivacious thrill, we suffer immeasurably. Not many people are aware when that dull anesthetized state overtakes us. We can only see the fruits of its perilous lack of pulsating fruits. Sickening!
We don’t have to age as bizarre, as that may sound; we are capable of retaining our youthful demeanor and feverishly attractive spirit. How? By the way we choose to think! When we choose to think like a guileless child and respond like an eager robust filled entertaining teenager, we soar to unimaginable hilarious heights. Nothing strips us of our uproarious sense of laughter like the imposed ideas of morality, duty, honor, decency and respect from those adults who sanction and set themselves apart. “WE” are the ones who begin to build our dungeons and fortresses of unbearable restraint long before any law sanctioned cop or holy ordained priest drops their self-limiting impositions on us. We don’t need their self-righteous guidance and law regulated inference for us to do right and do ‘good’.
We are self-governed. “We KNOW that when we are teenagers,” but with enough guilt, blame and shame imposed upon us from repressed adults, we begin to doubt our deeply ingrained personal convictions. We are certainly not the scalawags we are, sometimes, made out to be; but, anything (anyone) will do at the time of fractured emotional confrontational crossroads to be used as a convenient scapegoat. People never want to confront their own repressed demons. Teenagers remind them of the ones they tried to bury unsuccessfully along with the expansive creative freedom attached.
“We must grow up”, they say. “Act like we got some sense.” Would they be referring to the despicably deploring, boring and totally unfulfilling unimaginative non-sensual lives they are masquerading as productive, successful and happy? Give me a break! I’d rather be called a fool; a fool’s fool, but retain a youthfully generative and spontaneously authentic mind. Youth never diminishes denigrates or disappoints us. Youth never creates the problems of parasitical dependent behavior. When free flowing inspired spontaneity, (filled to hallowed overflowing) splashes the water of unconditional realms of enthusiastic, ingenious thinking, unmeasured worlds of ineffable god-infused creations spew forth are shaped and inhabited. Every teenager possesses these unutterable magical gifts.
Most teenagers leave the time-period of perceived rebellion with an unsympathetic critic, cynical judge, pessimistic enemy, and censored warden living within their minds. They let these four self-sabotaging fiends dominate their thoughts for the rest of their meagerly placated lives. They reduce natural pleasure to a bare minimum. Negativity becomes a favored bedfellow who rips to shreds most every inventive idea that could possibly arise from their well-maintained, beleaguered sumptuous appetite of inquisitive search.
“Much Too Insensitive”, you might be thinking. Ah! Which one of the bloodsucking fiends implanted that particular thought? Did it originate from the suppressed golden bough of youth? Yes, I realize gold must be tempered (purified). The purifying process is quite dangerously complex, using high temperature heating and/or hazardous chemical exposure; these combustible processes the human body innately carries. Every exposure of experience is definitively geared to purify the vessel. We are carried by the winds of our incremental change of seasons which supply us with every tool (psychological, biological, sociological, financial, spiritual, mental, sexual and environmental) WE need go through.
To have become so rigidly hardened and socially fearful of acting ‘out of character’, or be motivated by incidental useless opinions:”What will the neighbors think”, “How w ill it look”, or “But, I don’t know if I will succeed”, should immediately be replaced by soul searching, teenage riveting, mental explosive, archeological dig’ excavations. Pointless to remain on earth unfulfilled and unexpressed. [What else you gotta do?]
Have we abandoned the ‘natural and convenient’ sanctified creative instinct in us? And, IF we have for what amount of silver/copper coins rupees have we sold our soul to the devil for? Prestige? Love? Honor? Respect? Reputation? Admiration? Money? Family? Duty? Fame? You tell me. Do you have one sincere passion you would be willing to die for? Jesus was a revolutionary of a man who cup runneth over with unabated passion. So much so in his unspeakable departure uttered “forgive them father for they know not what they do.” Now, that unbreakable conviction!
We are not to roam around as mindless indifferent idiots. Getting by is not enough. Or trying to pretend the more we get will do it for us. NOPE. ‘Fraid not. We are ageless when we are unconditionally receptive. When we don’t plan how we are going to spend our retirement. Retirement, hell! What are we going to retire from? Living? “Forget about it.” (As Donnie Brasco said in the 1997 Oscar nominated movie) Live now! Today! Be unredeemably alive now. {Every moment in every day with complete utter abandonment} Don’t wait for the day when you won’t have to work any longer just so you can piss off your back porch. “Drop those pants and piss off your porch, today!”
Judgment, gossip and fault-finding harden our minds and make us crotchety old before our time. Condemnation immobilizes us and destroys our sexual appeal. Let us allow experimentation in all of the things that interest us and engage our attention, whether approved or not by others. Let beauty be beauty without our invalid interpretation. We are not qualified to express anything of true worth except that it benefits us in some pleasurable way. That’s the god’s honest truth. Wisdom can be folly at times; folly is damn fun! You should KNOW that by now.

Quite right - age is just a number. Staying young at heart is SOOOO important.
