A Tranquil Room Full of Kindergarteners Taking a Nap: Ability to Decide What’s Right for YOU
Remember when you were young and surrounded by a few rambunctious friends who would ask you silly questions like, “IF you were in the middle of the ocean, on a sinking boat, with your mama and daddy but could only save one person besides yourself, who would it be?” Do you recall your response? Did the question really matter to you or did you simply brush it off with little regard? Did you know, in simple, seemingly foolish occasions such as those, you were being ‘brought to the pallet of personal decision’? The pertinent thoughts that immediately flooded your mind determined and still determine various decisions you make on a daily basis. Even though the questions were no more than speculative nonsense, the amount of time and viable content it took to contemplate, consider or dismiss mattered to you. Imagine and consider this scenario: what would you do, right this very minute, IF you were toothless, blind, almost paralyzed and homeless? How do you propose you would take care of yourself? Where would you be living? In what part of the country, under what conditions and more importantly how you would have arrived at that particular juncture in life? Last but certainly, not least, how would your end days be spent and who would bury you?
Can you envision any part of this particular situation as being productive or positive? Do you immediately feel hopeless and destitute with no possible way of recovering, IF, in fact, you interpret the circumstance as needing to be improved upon? I ask you these indispensable questions consciously. Now, let us jump to an entirely new setting. Suppose you were brought up in the life of opulent luxury, servants who waited upon you ‘hand and foot’, every possible whim and wham attended to before the request was even uttered, with an unlimited expenditure of money and resources? What would you be doing any differently this minute? How would you have educated yourself, IF, in fact you chose to, and how, where and in what manner would you be living? What significant contribution would you make to the world with the vast sum of money you inherit? Again, how would your last days be spent and under what specific conditions would you die and be buried?
Why do these questions matter? They don’t IF; they don’t resister a response from you. Nothing matters IF it doesn’t matter to you. The world spins on its axis without a thought from, for or about you. Yet, you govern and conduct your life as if what you do and say makes a difference. You’ve, no doubt, heard it said, “The world does not revolve around you.” But, we as human beings, conduct, construct and conceive our affairs, temperaments, attitudes and biases as if it does. What am I saying? I am saying we are no more than eagerly vain self-vested creatures whose responsive impulses are but a hair’s breath away from savage IF and WHEN our personal desires are thwarted. Our lives are generated from a minute (incredibly limited and predisposed) spiraled circle of relativity; and, yet we speak with wide open mouths as if we KNOW something.
We know very little about which we speak and less about the intricately diffused underlying processes which have enabled our prejudices, discriminations and intolerances to form. We are in fact, blind, crippled and crazed (so deliberately emotionally tarnished) from birth to death, straddled with enormous wealth, untapped resources, and unlived potential. The untold story of our lives remains hidden, except that we take the initiative to discover who we are, where we came from, why we are here and where we are going. Not only are these questions the single most important ones we will ever in our ‘days on earth’ ponder, but just as imperative, what do we want, more than anything else in the whole wide world, (what can we actually do) while we take up space on his planet?
Instead of getting up from bed each morning in a monotonous drone, disconnected from the pulsating vibration of your inherent passion, take the face-slapping jolting occasion to ask yourself, aloud, “What’s going on?” Yes, WHAT, in all of your presently accepted reality, is going on in, around, under, into and underneath the actions you engage in? Are you throbbing with infectiously motivating energy to embrace the day in all its impending fullness?
Yes, it’s THAT important! Nothing else can or ever will compare to the igniting and responding to your precious ruthless soul’s call for pressing action. It’s called sacred sensual artistic sexual spiritual expression!!! So what if you don’t believe you have a soul or more significantly, that you don’t believe sexuality is a form of spiritual artistic expression? [Makes no difference in the long run] What does matter is that SOMETHING--- call it what you will stimulates you to consciously live. According to ancient scripture: Now is the day and hour to “study and show thyself approved”. (Paraphrased) Approved by whom? You, of course; No one else.
The sensually encrypted discipline hour has arrived. You must observe yourself in action, thought, deed and most of all, response. Discover when and how you react negatively and positively. (These words lack the pizzazz I wish to convey but there are few words available to enlist the energy expended) Watch what causes you to ‘burn within your bosom’ with added thrill and bodily pleasure. Don’t analyze, interpret or comment. Simply experience YOU! Do not let the time vested, money expended and actions associated deter you in the least. In fact, when contemplating any reasonable thought attached, dismiss immediately and proceed more heartily and humorously simply because you don’t KNOW what’s going on in you.
Am I implying that you would have to take a leave from your senses in order to engage in such ungrounded activity? Yes. Preposterously! You’re far too serious, stoic and boring. Let seriousness fly out the window into the genuine experience of fun. What? You think my suggestions are totally irresponsible and immature? I certainly hope so. “Except ye become as a child, you will in no wise enter into the gates of heaven.”(Paraphrased) Foolish, reckless and wild authentic action pays off if in no better way but to settle your erratic mind and ill-eased heart for the next untamed sacredly, sensually, artistically sexually (meaning much more than mere intercourse) induced round of consumption.
You know how it goes. You splurge a little you make a little. You indulge a lot; you’ll see what’s really driving you. Someone said a long, long time ago that the only sin was restriction. Possibly. You won’t ever know unless you have a free enough mind to ride the rake with Jake. Remove your constricted bearings. There’s another train bound for Lafayette, be on it.
