Good music, good sex, good food and good conversation, that’s the ‘Good Life’. Never, ever
pause, hesitate or second-guess your passionate
involvement with either. Combine all of the world’s greatest
religions, philosophies and psychoanalytic theories, if you will,
unless either of them can add or not diminish the pleasure in either of
these vital life-enhancing pleasures, turn away from their
well-intended instruction. No amount of ‘preaching’ is worth a damn if
you can’t apply the teaching to your physical life. IF you must alter
your way of ‘natural and convenient’ living, in order to subscribe to
their particular schooling, “something ain’t right”.
I don’t have to be a weather man to observe and appreciate the
expansive beauty of the clouds in the sky. Their cottony billowy wispy
forms of impeccable white against the piercing ‘Carolina’ blue look
pretty to me. The indefinable brilliance of the hot sun radiates its
magnificent warmth while hypnotically soothing cool rain refreshes.
Nothing like fresh home made ‘ just right’ lemonade, coupled with a
delicious chili/cheese hot dog on one of those blistering sultry
days, finished off by an unexpected nippy downpour. Completing the day
by the spontaneity of two excited lovers capturing the thrill of the
unimaginable moment of sexual excitement leaves little to exhaust the
imagination of fulfilling bliss.
So what more need be said? No much IF you’re not trying too hard
(meaning having to go out of your instinctively driven nature) to be
accepted, admired, loved, appreciated, honored, respected, understood
or acknowledged. But, IF you are, that IS the problem. The only one you
have! You need not TRY to achieve a state which does not ‘naturally and
conveniently’ comprises your being. ‘Having to try’ is like biting your
toe nails with your teeth; it’s very hard to do and it leaves a lot of
jagged edges in the process, not to mention the unsanitary nature of
the act itself. When something doesn’t come natural for you, it’s
just not your pair of roller skates. Now, how simple is that? We all
have characteristics that are part of our personality and physical
make-up. These embedded traits are designed to elicit certain
experiences while alive. We cannot force the river of our lives to flow any
differently. Am I saying that we shouldn’t attempt different things
along the way? Heck no! Try everything but don’t force anything.
If a person is lonely, bored and uninspired enough, he can/will create
all sorts of diversions. Which in and of itself is no major problem.
But, when he forfeits his sacred artistic impetus for the sake of
pleasing another or placating desires not normally appealing to him, he
has gone terribly awry. In fact, he has fallen into the preverbal
“ditch” the bible talks about. No way can you fall into the pit, when
on ‘your mark’ of authenticity. When one operates from his ‘natural and
convenient’ authentic stance, ‘ordinary things and unimpressive people’
that could be viewed as totally insignificant, could/would, and often
does, change the season of his life drastically. A simple smile from a
total stranger would extract a sensual thrill of mammoth proportions.
When operating from our basic core, we courageously laugh at jokes
which aren’t especially funny, simply because they feel right to us. No
particular reason; it just strikes an amusing chord. We may even laugh
inappropriately, -at the wrong time-simply because we want to. We have
no imperative need to continue with full fledged self-impelling
gestures to impress. We are oblivious to praise, flattery and
manipulation. When on our game, we are driven by our own self-generated
thoughts, ideas, programs and desires which have nothing whatsoever to
do with controlling or influencing another.
You are a creator: an artist, musician, actor, engineer, chef,
designer, hair dresser, makeup/clothes designer, scriptwriter,
director, producer, accountant, politician, dancer, comedian, doctor,
lawyer, scientist, statistician, philosopher, teacher, poet, author,
songwriter, singer, entertainer, master of ceremonies and the architect
of your life. No one’s character is exempt; you embody some of all of
these human tendencies. Because you are a human being, you were born
with the innate ability to formulate, devise, implement and ignite
whatever suits your fancy. Never are you to be in debt of gratitude to
another who walks on two legs. You are succinctly, as well as
prodigiously, endowed with enormous overflowing potential, talent and
gifts just waiting to be expressed in however you choose to demonstrate
these unique abilities.
The question I’m asking: in every single moment of your embossed life,
how are you using these elements to express your revered artistic
endowment?
Remember and never forget: You have not been shortchanged. No occasion
will arise when you are to envy and yearn for other gifts instead of
yours. In panoramic demonstrated ways, you will achieve precisely the
abundance and in the exact measure of the totality of what you are on
earth to accomplish. You may ask: What would prevent me from realizing
and actualizing these lofty ‘natural and convenient’ attributes instead
of whining, complaining, moaning, criticizing, groaning and pining the
way I do? One answer and one answer only: Not showing up for your life
as it unfolds, without the need to try to improve it and a LACK OF
GENUINE APPRECIATION AND MOBILIZING DEPTH OF GRATITUDE for the
intricately woven apparent problems associated. That’s it!
