A Light in the Refrigerator Has Burned Out: But, Who Said You Couldn’t Grope in the Dark?

We worry needlessly. We fret over things that have very little barring in the
scope of an ‘event packed’ life. Because we are restless, curious creatures who
seek pleasurable adventure in moment by moment difficulties, we invent
scenarios of complexity, simply to entertain us. Yes, ‘tis sad but true.
Believe it or not, but contrary, conflicting, painfully confusing, all-but- consuming
disappointing emotional events can be viewed as a form of pleasurable
adventure, to most, whose otherwise dreamy, monotonous life bore them to
pieces. For those people who are bound and determined to make a major case out
of the latest non-confirmed gossip, an unexpected delayed appointment or a
friend’s seemingly apparent act of betrayal, the moment by moment difficulties
add a certain preferred spice to their existence.
We simply refuse to be satisfied. We want to hurry along the process, be the first
in line to acquire the latest fad on Black Friday and/or call or e-mail a
totally unnecessary amount of times to the same person who we perceive as
ignoring us. In plain English; to reiterate, we invent scenarios of difficulty
simply to entertain us. We like being distracted. We really don’t want to know
the answers, too soon nor do we desire for the troublesome situation to be
resolved without at least a half-hearted investment on our part. We like the
idea that “We had something to do with the final outcome” turning out the way
we foretold.
We never slow down long enough to see if what we are investing our precious
time, money, effort and interest in even matters to us, at all or serves any
genuine worth-while purpose. We are so accustomed to ‘making it happen’ as fast
as it possibly can, we lose our balance. We exchange hours of unexamined
thoughts in stillness for a superficial portrayal of ‘getting somewhere, doing
something, becoming somebody’. We want prestige, power, success, respect, and
authority at any cost. We end up so attached to the drama of pretending we're
living that we forget the meaning of our days has somehow slipped away without
a casual glance of soulful introspection.
We talk endlessly about money problems, no matter how much we make, accumulate,
acquire, inherit or waste. It’s as if financial difficulties feed our sense of
importance. We yearn to be singled out in any way possible! Therefore, if we
are being deprived of the sustenance (wealth) we think we ought to possess, it
makes us an official victim in the weary life of the disadvantaged. Once again,
we are smugly pleased for having been right in our embellished stories of how
very ‘special’ we are, for having to struggle so hard.
Cash flow bind? Of course. How could our life be anything but in a cash flow
bind? Something as simple as a light burning out in the refrigerator reminds us
of “how things just shouldn’t be this way”. Pray tell me, what way IS it
supposed to be? We are so accustomed to negatively projecting the familiar
outcome to a particular situation, we wouldn’t recognize beneficent prosperity
if it showed up on our doorstep asking to come in. Instead of flinging the door
open, embracing him with open receptive arms, we’d banish him from the premises
after accusing him of trying to rob or maim. It’s a real shame: the way we
allow the registering and state of conditioned minds infiltrate and control our
body’s perception.
Do these words mean anything to you? Do they ring a bell of familiarity? Can
you relate? IF so, you realize there is another reality going on other than the
one you so precariously cling to. Our
soul (if one really does exist) pierces more than one zone of awareness. Would
you consider the possibility of investigating another frame of mind instead of
poverty? Possibly one that eliminates the addictive drama served from the
platter of assumed self-intoxicated emotional indulgence. Maybe, you could
identify yourself as a candidate for the removal of exaggerated concern. If you
are sincere and diligent in your efforts, possibly by mailing your request into
the cosmic headquarters, it would activate a confirmable response.
Ridiculous and absurd, you say. And????? What do you offer as a demonstrable
solution?
Remember: you are the source to your own prefabricated frenzied dilemma. Your
personal focus has frozen in the ‘habit’ mode. It’s obvious that the spotlight
of materiality has taken control of your sacred unimpressed innate indemnity.
Bottom line: As long as you seek meaningful satisfaction from green backs, you will
remain paralyzed. Can’t sweep manure into a pile, without removing it from the
floor, and expect the smell to go away. Won’t happen. Money is not the root of
all evil but the falsely assumed belief that it can give you total freedom is
just short of insane. Nothing binds you more than the erroneous idea that
everything will get better when you secure more money. Go check your
refrigerator. Besides the light having burned out, the compressor is gone, too,
I think I heard you say.
